With the end of February also comes the end of the winter season.
Last year, I wrote an Autumn Favourites post which consisted of everything I’d loved throughout the season. It included skincare, clothing, tv shows, home decor and more. I’ve decided to do the same for the end of this season: Winter.
Here are my Winter Favourites…
In my ears:
On my plate:
Lunch time! This is my favourite way to eat avocado. Actually, this is the only way I’ll eat avocado. My sister made me this meal around a month ago – I’d never tried it before that (heck, I’d never even poached an egg before that!). It’s quickly become one of my favourite meals, perfect for breakfast or lunch and tastes delicious. A well deserved lunch following my #bodybalance class this morning (which I smashed btw 💪🏻). I’m so close to losing that first stone as well! Feeling fantastic, physically and mentally.
On my telly:
I loved the first movie and this one is even better. Two words: Elton. John.

To my door:
I will try not to kill these. Im loving filling my home with beautiful plants and I’m also enjoying learning how to take care of all the different types. The big plant at the back is pretty cool. It’s an air purifier and is known as a ‘prayer plant’. At night it’s leaves lift and curl – as if it were praying. Plants from @bloomboxclub
BloomBox is a quarterly plant subscription and I love it, what a fantastic idea! The plants also come with a little info card telling you how to look after them – which is handy because I’m really good at killing plants.
On my skin:
The BalanceMe Congested Skin Serum has been a godsend this month. The cold does strange things to my skin and this has really helped calm and new spots down really quickly. This sample came in last month’s LookFantastic Beauty Box.
This Cowshed Hand Cream literally saved my hands last night. I’ve never suffered from dry hand but this winter they’ve been awful and so painful! I’m grateful for receiving this sample in this month’s Birchbox.
How funny that all of my favourite skincare products this month have come from my Beauty Box Subscriptions!
In my makeup bag:
I will be doing a ‘What’s in my makeup bag’ post very soon. Here’s just a glimpse at a few favourites this season:
Benefit Roller Lash Mascara is great for natural looking, lightly coated lashes. It doesn’t sit clumpy and is perfect for that ‘no makeup, makeup’ look.
The Bobbi Brown Perfectly Defined Long-Wear Brown Pencil (in Blonde) has permanently replaced my ABH brow pencil. Enough said.
My beloved Urban Decay Naked Skin Concealer needs replenishing. I LOVE this stuff.
I have over 30 Spectrum brushes now but my most used it by far the A05 brush aka my bronzer brush.
On my hair:
My hairdresser recommended Davines and now I am doing the same. Their Shampoo, Conditioner and Oil smells amazing and has made such a difference to the overall condition of my hair.
My gorgeous other half gifted me the T3 Whirl Trio wand for Christmas and it creates the most beautiful curls. I like to use the biggest wand attachment on my hair (pictured) but it comes with 2 additional smaller interchangeable wands as well.
Below: My hair after using only Davines products for the last 3 months, curled with the T3 Whirl Trio.
I’ve had a couple of messages and compliments about my hair this week. Want to know my secret? I “neglected” it for 3 years. I didn’t own a blow dryer or hair straighteners. I didn’t even use shampoo or conditioner on it for nearly 2 years. I had a hairdresser come to colour and cut it once in those 3 years. Becoming a mum made me forget to take care of myself. It’s only recently that I’ve started to wear makeup, curl my hair and just generally make a bit more of an effort. And I feel so much better for it.
